Abstract landscapes from the new concrete sea wall at Camber Sands, East Sussex. You tell the story.
This body of work developed in response to the building of the new sea wall at Camber Sands. I have documented the building of the sea wall with my camera over the two years that the works went on, drawn to the enormous piles of granite rocks that were shipped onto the beach, and the feat of engineering. Once the wall was finished I was struck by the changes to the landscape and its effect on the horizon. The smooth concrete of the wall creates a new space for the public to enjoy, and within the concrete I began to find new landscapes and horizons within the wall itself.
Nothing remains the same.
The landscape will always be changing, and we adapt and change along with it.
